My Article on Rat Poison Perils

Great Horned Owl Kevin Watson
The Record's Opinion Section on Sept. 4  featured a full page about the perils that rat poisons pose to raptors and other wildlife. Don Torino of the Bergen County Audubon Society and I wrote it. You can read the main article here:

Kevin Watson took the article's main photo, also featured above. (Thanks, Kevin.)

We are reaching out to Bergen County to pass a resolution opposing these rat poisons.  Screen Shot 2022-09-04 at 6.51.49 AMAllendale and Saddle River have already passed resolutions opposing the poisons.

A dozen regional groups support the resolution:

Bergen County Audubon Society, Bergen SWAN, Closter Nature Center, Flat Rock Brook Nature Center, Friends of the Hackensack River Greenway Through Teaneck, Fyke Nature Association, Grow Torah, Hackensack Riverkeeper, Lorrimer Sanctuary (NJ Audubon), Palisades Nature Association/Greenbrook Sanctuary (Administrative Council), The Raptor Trust, Tenafly Nature Center.

Two other related stories were not posted online.
