Don Torino & BCAS To Be Honored

Don-torinoFlat Rock Brook Nature Association President Stephen Wiessner writes:
Don Torino and Bergen County Audubon Society are being honored by Flat Rock Brook Nature Association at our 2021 Virtual Gala on Earth Day, April 22.
Don and Audubon will be presented with our Conservation Hero Award in recognition of outstanding contributions to our preserve. Audubon has been a friend in supporting land work on the preserve. Don is an ambassador for those contributions and also presents public programs for us. His presentations engage our attendees in the natural world and their power to protect it.
Since 1973, Flat Rock Brook has played an important role in our community by preserving 150 acres of woodlands and streams and delivering quality environmental education programs. Our 3.6 miles of forested hiking trails are enjoyed by more than 75,000 annual recreational visitors and environmental education participants. Our education programs serve students and adults.
The Gala website has more information, including the opportunity to support our event with a sponsorship, Gala Journal ad or donation to salute Don and Audubon and to assist Flat Rock’s preservation and education work.
Way to go, Don and BCAS! Congrats.
