Reminder: Free Zoom Talk about Bajor Farm

Use this 1953_1953
On Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., four local groups are sponsoring a Zoom talk with Marie Breen and Pat Cooper, sisters who grew up next door to their grandparents' Bajor Farm in Allendale during World War II.

The 45-minute talk will feature an interview with these wonderful women, archival photos of the farm and environs, and (I hope) aerial photos of the area between what are now the Celery Farm Natural Area and Crestwood Lake.

Our Zoom account can accommodate a maximum 100 attendees, we are currently above 70 folks registered, so don't delay... I will try to record the talk but cannot making any promises...

Here's the writeup.

Growing Up on Allendale’s Bajor Farm
A Zoom Talk, 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13

Pat Cooper and Marie Breen are sisters who grew up beside the family farm in Allendale in the 1950s. Part of the old farm is now part of the Celery Farm Nature Preserve. They’ll talk about their farm experiences, what farming was like in those days, what the region was like, and what has changed the most. With lots of archival photos, and 90 years of aerial photography. Allendale’s Jim Wright will host.

Sponsored by the Fyke Nature Association, the John Fell House, the Lee Memorial Library and the Northwest Bergen History Coalition, with a grant from the Winifred M. & George P. Pitkin Foundation.
