Saturday: CF Walk & Garlic Mustard Pull

Fyke's First Saturday in May nature walk is May 6 at 8 a.m., followed by an hour-long Garlic Mustard pull at 10 a.m.

May Walk at the Celery Farm at 8 a.m.

This free walk is for nature-lovers and birders of all levels. We'll look for butterflies, bugs, weird plants and our feathered friends. Meet at 8:00 a.m. at the Green Way cul de sac. Wear long pants and socks; bring water and bug spray! Leaders: Jim Wright and Mike Limatola. Register for this walk by e-mail to celeryfarm@gmail.com.

Garlic Mustard Pull at 10 a.m.

We'll walk the main trail and pull and bag all the Garlic Mustard we see. Garlic Mustard is a nasty invasive that actually messes up the soil chemistry to affect nearby plants. Bring work gloves. We'll supply the plastic bags.

More about Garlic Mustard removal here.  (When it doubt, bag it! It goes to seed more often than most folks realize.)

We'll meet at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.  at Green Way entrance.
