The Wild Turducken Plot Thickens

Joe Koscielny, who tallied the first Wild Turducken sighting at the Celery Farm, on April 1, 2016, when the preserve was closed for April Fools Day, has how confessed to returning to the scene of his crime. He writes:

Knowing that April 1 was the key date from last year, I had to risk all and venture to the Celery Farm again this April 1, hoping to see the Turducken.

When I pulled into the main parking lot and saw no cars I thought I would be safe. However I spotted a posting on the main board that I never saw before. I looked at it through my binoculars and the little hairs on the back of my neck stood up: It was a wanted poster with my picture on it.

My transgression:  I was accused of trespassing on April 1 when the Celery Farm was closed. I was banished from the site and subject to imprisonment. I had a sense of what John Fell must have felt.

So not wanting to be seen at the main entrance I left and went to Green Way. I was pleased to see no postings.  I stealthily made my way along the back path away from the main road and along the opposite side of the pond.

I made my way to the Warden's Watch and positioned my self hidden under it, away from any searching warden eyes. After a short time, I  heard a faint sound that grew louder from across the way -- "gobble, quack, cluck, gobble, quack, cluck."

I looked and spotted the Turducken and quickly was able to capture a photo as it quickly disappeared. Not wanting to press my luck, I quickly vacated the site along the path I came in.

When I got home I checked my one lucky photo of the Turducken (below).

I was amazed at how much it resembled the sketch that had been made. It certainly was worth the risk of going there again on April 1.

(Thanks, Joe. I think. I think that's the oddesr turducken I have ever seen, on account of that rectangular aura. I am beginning to wonder, philosophically: Which came first, the turducken or the drawing?)
