Grand Canyon VI: Best Bird I.D.s Ever!

Yes, that is a raven atop a metal raven silhouette and a raven sign.
They were as ubiquitous as Dark-eyed Juncos, but much bigger and far more charismatic.
(No offense, Juncos.)

Thinking of taking a mule ride along the canyon's rim?
If you are assigned a mule named Cher, I advise running as fast as possible in the opposite direction. She has a mind of her own.
Jim O'Neill of The Record included the Birdy 30 in his advance story on the snowstorm.
The link is here -- you'll have to scroll down a ways. Now get counting.
The Birdy 30 is on -- for today and tomorrow!
You know the rules -- see how many species of birds you can see from one window in one continuous 30-minute period.
Winner is the person who sees the most species. A special prize (our eternal praise) to whoever sees "the best bird" -- Stiles' idea.
Important: E-mail your totals to me at [email protected], not the e-mail list.

P.S. Had a woodcock by my backyard this morning, but did not count as part of the Birdy 30 because I was outside at the time, not at the window. It flew on whistling wings into the Celery Farm.
