A Nifty Sunday morning at Wave Hill

Did the Second Sunday bird walk at Wave Hill yesterday, led by the always informative Gabriel Willow of NYC Audubon.

Got great looks at Ospreys and Red-tails, but not-so-great pix.  The butterflies after the walk were less informative but provided some great photo ops.

If you haven't been to Wave Hill (in the Bronx), what are you waiting for? Sunday morning, when traffic is light, is a great time to go.

The butterfly below is a Painted Lady, not an American Lady, I decided, because of this helpful webpage. Other butterflies are a Silver-spotted Skipper and a weensy Peck's Skipper.

Full bird list follows after the photos.
