Marsh Warden Mike Limatola and I are a leading a 90-minute nature walk around the Celery Farm Saturday morning at  8 a.m.

Target birds: Red-breasted Nuthatch and any warblers passing through. Mike and I also saw a (dead) Star-nosed Mole, quite a strange little beast.yesterday.

This walk is for nature-lovers of all ages and birders of all levels. We'll also look for bugs and weird plants.

Meet at 8 a.m.. at Green Way cul-de-sac on the north end of the CF off Franklin Turnpike. Check celeryfarm.net for any updates.

Now that the sun sets earlier and the days are cooler, we are switching from after dinner to morning walks at the Celery Farm.  The wood ducks show up so much better in the morning light and a phoebe posed very nicely.

Mary Lane, a friend of the Celery Farm, reports a home visitation by a Sharp-shinned Hawk this afternoon. It stayed for 20 minutes, until "he took off like a shot after a small bird."

Mike Flom saw this waterfowl swimming near the Pirie-Mayhood Tower this past weekend. What is it?

I'm guessing that it's either easy or a trick.
