A Moth Mystery
Some Butterflies Have Arrived!

Butterfly Hunt Is Tomorrow (Saturday)

IMG_4694

Fyke Nature Association's annual free Tom Burr Memorial Butterfly Walk is Saturday, July 16, from 10:30 to noon. We meet at Green Way.

The walk is named for the late Tom Burr. You can read more about him here.

I am unofficially calling it a butterfly hunt this year, because these guys have been hard to find. Some of the native plants that attract them are blooming these days so who knows? Maybe we'll get lucky.

We'll walk around the natural area, looking for butterflies, dragonflies and whatever else we can turn up.

This a family-friendly event -- just be aware of ticks and possible poison ivory (as Daughter Corie used to call it).

Long pants and bug spray make common sense. A bottle of water wouldn't hurt either if the heat wave continues..

Please rsvp. Details follow.
