Sunday: Bird Walk @ Laurel Hill

One of my favorite spots in the Meadowlands is Laurel Hill County Park in Secaucus, currently home to nesting Peregrines and (nearby) Ospreys.

The Peregrines have apparently taken over the Common Ravens' nest for good (or bad) -- after taking over an Osprey nest along the Hackensack River previously.

Moral of story: Do not mess with Peregrines.

(See this meadowblog post from October 2014.)

Bergen County Audubon has a walk at lovely Laurel Hill this Sunday at 9 a.m. Directions to to this sometimes tough-to-find park are here.

Sunday, May 31 9AM Laurel Hill County Park -- Secaucus – Looking for nesting Peregrine Falcons and Osprey, meet at parking lot at end of park by ballfields. Don Torino [email protected] 201-230-4983
