Don Torino's latest post for wildnewjersey.tv is about the inspiring return of the Bald Eagle to our region.
Here's a sample:
It is hard for many to comprehend or understand where we were just a few short years ago and how far we have come. Yet every Eagle we see soaring overhead should be a reminder that we have done well but also that our job is far from finished.
We still need to preserve and protect the Bald Eagle and conserve the land and water they need to survive and to make sure that the next generation does not grow up denied the privilege of seeing creatures like the Monarch butterfly, the American Kestrel and the Little Brown Bat.
Rachel Carson once said:
“One way to open your eyes is to ask yourself, ‘What if I had never seen this before? What if I knew I would never see it again?’”
It is now our time to do the right thing.
