Fyke's annual Tom Burr Memorial Butterfly Walk is this Saturday, July 19, at 10:30 a.m. We meet at the Green Way entrance.

The walk is named for Tom Burr, the late Fyke member, naturalist and photographer, who led this walk with charm and great humor.

Marie Longo of Bergen County Audubon Society passed along some more Moth Ball shots, and Barbara Dilger of the Fyke Nature Association shared one of Stiles and Lillian Thomas with my wife, Patty.

A big thank you to the more than 100 folks who participated in the third annual Allendale Moth Ball.

We had a late-arriving guest who seemed to enjoy posing for photos, and I thought I'd post one now. Will post pix more as time allows.

One of the main reasons for the event was to celebrate all the amazing creatures of the night -- most of which aren't even on our radar.

I think this moth is a perfect example.
