Protect the Palisades! LG Is Over the Top

Please join us at UPPER SCHOOL, 143 Charlotte Place, Englewood Cliffs on April 30 to tell Englewood Cliffs enough is enough! The meeting starts at 7:30pm, but please arrive early.

In an after-the-fact attempt to justify its approval of LG's 143-foot tower, the Englewood Cliffs Planning Board wants to redo its master plan, a move which would forever erase the zoning rules that limit buildings adjacent to Palisades Interstate Park to 35 feet. (For background: http://bit.ly/Ocev1s.)

THIS PUBLIC HEARING IS OUR BEST CHANCE TO TELL ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS TO PRESERVE THE PALISADES!

We need everyone who cares about the Palisades to let Englewood Cliffs, a town of just 5,281 people, know it can't ruin the Palisades for the millions who treasure it.

It made a bad move when it granted variances for LG's new headquarters, and now it wants to make things worse.

A changed master plan would not only allow for LG's tower, but it would also open the door for more high-rise development along the Palisades.

Your presence will make a difference (speaking is optional).  Please join us at UPPER SCHOOL on April 30 to tell Englewood Cliffs enough is enough! The meeting starts at 7:30pm, but please arrive early.

Free Celery Farm Walk this Saturday

Fyke's Earth Day Warbler Walk -- the first Celery Farm walk of the year -- is on Saturday, Apr. 26, at 8 a.m. Yes, Earth Day is actually April 22, but the warblers don't know.

We'll look for spring arrivals while the trees aren't yet leafed out, plus whatever else we can see, like those charismatic and loud Red-winged Blackbirds. Meet at Green Way.
