Deedee Burnside was nice enough to solve Monday Morning's mystery for us.
The tree with these beautiful catkins is a Speckled Alder, found along the Allendale Brook.
This Saturday night, a few folks are planning to do a frog walk in the Celery Farm, at our own risk.
We meet at 7:30 in the main parking lot.
The walk takes about 90 minutes and ends with a look for moths in my backyard.
The walk is free; just bring flashlights. It is a nature preserve, so be mindful about tripping on rocks, roots, etc.
Children are welcome so long as they are not afraid of the dark.
Note: This special night walk is an exception; the Celery Farm Natural Area is open from dawn to dusk only.
