Thanks to the folks who answered Monday's Mystery.  There was a vote for European Starling and a "maybe not." 

I fluctuated beween starling and some sort of woodpecker... I think "starling" is probably right. Any other thoughts?

I knew I should have stuck with the caterpillar photo.
