I did a little fall cleaning of the Screech Owl nesting box over the weekend.
I put in new wood chips, and then got the miniature video-cam working again and trained on the entire floor of the box.
I don't expect to see an owl in the box for at least another month -- and possibly not until early December -- but I will check the box regularly to make sure there is no squirrel activity.
Secret to successful screech owl boxes: As soon as you detect a squirrel using the box, evict it immediately. Rinse and repeat.
This is the fruit of a backyard plant that attracts Baltimore Orioles in the spring from the Celery Farm. We have never seen the plant bear fruit before.
Any thoughts on the plant or its new fruit capacity?
