Saw these beauties along Parnell's Path earlier this month...

Starting before 6:30 tonight at the CF, Common Nighthawks were all over Lake Appert -- too many to count.

I am happy to announce that all the pre-production work on my new book "Ghosts of Allendale" is done, and it's almost ready to go to the printer.

The book, illustrated by 14 talented artists from Northern Highlands Regional High School, but it will be hard cover, 40 pages. It will feature not only the Revolutionary ghost tale that I cooked up and those nifty illustrations, but also brief sections on Allendale Founding Father John Fell, the Fell House, the Celery Farm Natural Area.

I am publishing the book through my litte publishing company, In the Presence of Nature Books. I plan to have the book available for the holiday gift-giving season.

The book, printed in full color, will sell for $21.95.

Rob sez: Another good morning at the CF. Highlights incl. several PURPLE FINCHES incl. an adult male (my earliest for CF), 9 species of warbler incl. 3+ early BT Greens, continuing Wilson's Warbler, Magnolia Warbler, ad. male Redstart, great looks at my first of fall Prairie Warbler, and 2 YELLOW-BELLIED FLYS. Most of the birds seen w/ Fred--who also tallied an early Nashville Warbler.
