When my wife and I attended a Fyke Nature Association talk on bats, we didn't expect this treat -- a Barn Owlet. I photographed it in its little blue carrying case.  More on the bat talk later this week.

   The live owlet, from the American Museum of Natural History, will be used for educational purposes.
