Trails Clear But Muddy in Spots
My New Column: House Sparrows

Next Events and Volunteer Opportunity

We'd love your help -- and participation -- at these free Celery Farm and Fyke Nature Association events.

Friday, May 18 — Monthly meeting: 8 p.m. All about Damselflies & Dragonflies
For many years, while birding, Kurt Muenz has often photographed colorful Odonata -- “Odes” for short. Over the last 5 years he's also become interested in identifying species and learning about behavior as a parallel hobby. Kurt will share some of these findings and images with us at Fyke's monthly meeting at Allendale Borough Hall at 8 p.m. Free and open to the public.

Saturday, June 2 — Nature Walk at the Celery Farm
This walk is for nature-lovers and birders of all levels. We'll look for birds, butterflies, bugs and other cool stuff.  Free and open to the public. Meet at 8 a.m. at Green Way cul de sac. Wear long pants and socks; bring water and bug spray! Leader: Mike Limatola. Register for this walk by e-mail to mike.limatola@gmail.com

Saturday, June 16 — Celery Farm Cleanup
Meet at the end of Green Way at 9 a.m. for a couple of hours of active conservation.  We'll do trail work as needed, and pull and bag invasive garlic mustard.  Many hands make light work! Bring your own work gloves. Jim Wright is the coordinator. Please let him know if you can participate at celeryfarm@gmail.com.   Rain date is June 17.   (The next work detail will be in the fall.)
